NX 450h+ PHEV

The 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ is the flagship of the NX lineup, combining plug-in hybrid (PHEV) efficiency with all-wheel-drive performance. As a PHEV, it offers the flexibility of electric-only propulsion for short trips and gasoline power for longer drives, eliminating range concerns common to fully electric vehicles. The system enables up to 37 miles of electric-only range and delivers sprightly performance with zero-to-60 mph acceleration in six seconds.

For 2026, a new trim called Premium lowers the starting price of the 450h+ lineup while still offering upscale features like leather upholstery and a power moonroof. Every NX 450h+ now includes dual-voltage charging cables compatible with Level 1 and Level 2 outlets. Meanwhile, Lexus has revised the high-output charging system to shorten plug-in times.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ has a three-trim lineup: Premium, Luxury, and F Sport Handling. The powertrain features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a plug-in hybrid system with two electric motors (one per axle) producing a combined 304 horsepower. The standard all-wheel drive is managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

In all-electric mode, the NX 450h+ has a 37-mile range, while its Lexus-estimated combined fuel economy as a hybrid is 34 mpg. Charging time with a Level 2/240-volt system at peak capacity is about three hours. With the proper equipment, the towing capacity is 2,000 pounds. The NX 450h+ has 22.7 cubic feet of cargo space in the back, expanding to 46.9 cubic feet when the back seats are folded.

Standard Features

The NX 450h+ boasts a long list of standard equipment, even with the base trim, the Premium. It has a power moonroof, perforated leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a driver's memory system, eight-way power front seats with heat and ventilation, a hands-free tailgate, and LED headlights. The amenities continue with dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 7-inch driver information display, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, heated power-folding side mirrors (with auto tilt-down in reverse and driver's side auto-dimming functions), steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, roof rails, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a windshield wiper de-icer, a cargo cover, six USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The upgrades for the Luxury trim include triple-beam LED headlamps with washers and cornering lamps, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, open-pore wood trim, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The F Sport Handling is outfitted similarly to the Luxury but has an F SPORT–tuned suspension, performance dampers, F Sport front seats with enhanced bolsters, trim-exclusive exterior treatments, and NuLuxe leatherette upholstery.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

The NX 450h+ has the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which is made up of forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, and proactive driving assist. Also standard are road sign assist, safe exit assist, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, eight airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, Smart Stop Technology (to minimize unintended acceleration), and a rearview monitor. A surround-view monitor, front cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist are optional on every trim. Semi-autonomous parking assistance is available only for the Luxury and F Sport Handling.

Infotainment and Connectivity

All NX 450h+ trims are outfitted with a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and Lexus app integration. Wi-Fi hotspot capability and access to Lexus connected services are also included. A ten-speaker sound system is standard, but the F Sport Handling’s audio can be upgraded to a 17-speaker Mark Levinson arrangement.
