While the days of the gas-only ES are behind us (it debuted in 1990), the nameplate is going strong. In fact, this is a redesign year for it, and the changes are plentiful. Replacing the purely petrol version is the debuting ES All-Electric, which we cover separately. It joins the gas-electric 350h – which we cover on this page. Both editions reap the benefits of this redesign, with a wheelbase that’s longer by 3.1 inches, along with notable increases in width and height that translate into more passenger space in both rows. Plus, the slightly higher seating position improves visibility and ease of entry.
With the discontinuation of the LS, the ES now serves as Lexus’ flagship sedan in the United States, and the aforementioned increased dimensions will help it fill those significant shoes. The ‘26 ES 350h rides on a redesigned platform shared with the all-electric ES and adopts styling inspired by the striking LF-ZC concept. The front end reinterprets Lexus’ signature spindle grille, while the wraparound LED blade taillights add a cohesive look. The brand’s sixth-generation hybrid powertrain produces up to 48 mpg while maintaining the smooth driving character that’s helped define the ES for decades. The well-regarded Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 adds the latest driver-assistance technologies and safety features.
