Appearance is a huge part of the ES’s redesign for 2026: its striking new look and more commanding profile will immediately grab your attention. A boxy, angular front fascia, slim dual LED headlights, and sharp lines create a strong presence, with blade-style taillights spanning the entire back end for an edgy, modern look. It’s larger, too, gaining 6.5 inches in length (to 202.3 in.), 2-plus inches in width (to 75.6 inches), and 4-plus inches in height (to 61.4 inches). Larger wheels (19-inch) are part of the mix as well. But the biggest shift happens under the hood, as Lexus has retired the gas-only powertrain in favor of two new all-electric drive units to complement the existing hybrid system.
The entry-level ES 350e is the range champ, providing up to 307 miles via its front-wheel drive unit. It’s well outfitted with wireless smartphone charging, active noise control, and the Lexus Memory System for the driver’s seat, steering column, and side-view mirrors. Technology leaves its mark in the cabin with a new 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen, and under the hood with the latest safety and driver-assistance suite, Lexus Safety System+ 4.0. A fresh slate of optional packages allows for further customization: the Cold Weather Package will add headlight washers and a windshield wiper de-icer to either trim (plus a knee heater on the Premium), the Convenience Package equips the Premium with the upgraded driver-assistance technology (, and the Executive Package outfits the Luxury with power-reclining heated and ventilated rear seats with massage settings, passenger-side rear seat ottoman, and rear climate controls. New colors, Copper Crest and Wavelength, join the exterior palette, and the Palomino interior—previously only offered in leatherette—is now available with the Luxury’s semi-aniline leather upholstery.
