LF-1 Limitless Concept – Stay Informed

As the auto industry continues to evolve, Lexus has taken some of their best ideas and developed concept vehicles that could potentially change the way we drive forever. One of these exciting concepts is the LF-1 Limitless, a luxury crossover with an angular and futuristic exterior design and a jaw-dropping interior full of state-of-the-art technologies like digital side-view monitors and four-dimensional navigation (detailed below). While these concept vehicles may never make it to the production stage, they’re certainly something to ponder because they supply a glimpse into where the future might be headed. Continue reading to see exactly how the LF-1 Limitless might one day change the game.

What’s It Like?

The LF-1‘s distinct appearance is dominated by a heavy dash-to-axle ratio, a cabin that sits deep in the rear-wheel-drive chassis, and prominent 22-inch wheels (which are barely contained under its massive fenders), a combination that gives it a truly muscular appearance. Even its low roofline and elevated ride height serve to emphasize that this concept crossover means business. The profile of the LF-1 is marked by a clear flow from front to back, starting with a front fender line that extends from the hood all the way to the C-pillar. This line provides nice contrast with the more complex surfaces below, and it extends all the way to the back until the rear slowly builds back out to give the wheels a broad and powerful posture. Above the lights, a huge window extends over the rear seat to provide a full view of the surroundings.

Looking Inside the LF-1 Limitless Concept Vehicle

Supreme comfort is the hallmark of the LF-1. By removing all knobs and buttons from the dash in favor of motion-activated controls, Lexus has set up the cockpit to allow the driver to focus on the road, and back-seat passengers would get individual display screens to control things like temperature and entertainment. But the most innovative LF-1 feature is its chauffeur mode, for fully autonomous operation. In this mode, you’ll be able to sit back and relax while the vehicle takes you where you need to go. For the more hands-on driver, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters give the LF-1 a totally sporty feel, while buttons on the lower section of the steering wheel engage functions such as parking and reversing.

As mentioned, there will be a 4D navigation system that acts as a personal assistant for all occupants by updating them on progress, traffic, and road conditions along a programmed route. For added convenience, suggestions will be made on where to stop for fuel and food, and the system can even make hotel reservations. Navigation can be displayed on the in-dash monitor, the rear-seat entertainment screens, or wirelessly on smart devices. A touch-tracer pad in the center console supports character recognition for data entry, while an additional controller in the rear-seat center console lets those passengers make their own comfort and entertainment choices.
