Lexus ensures that there’s an ES configuration for every buyer by offering two powertrains (250 and 350) and six diverse trim levels (Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, F Sport Design, F Sport Handling, and Black Line Special Edition). While most trims are available with both powertrains, the F Sport Handling and Black Line Special Edition are exclusive to the ES 350.
The 250 models have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 203 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, while the 350 versions ramp things up with a 3.5-liter V6 generating 302 hp and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The ES 250 comes standard with all-wheel drive (AWD), while the ES 350 has front-wheel drive (FWD).
According to the EPA’s official fuel-economy estimates, the ES 250 returns 25 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway. The ES 350 achieves 22 city/32 highway, but the performance-focused F Sport Design, F Sport Handling, and Black Line Special Edition see a slight decrease in highway fuel economy by one mpg.
The Base ES comes with perforated synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a drive mode selector, paddle shifters (steering-wheel mounted), and LED lights (headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights). The Luxury adds quilted and perforated semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated wood- and leather-wrapped steering wheel, power cushion extension for the driver’s seat, memory settings (for the driver’s seat, power-folding side mirrors, and steering wheel), wireless phone charging, rain-sensing windshield wipers, wood interior trim, ambient interior lighting, a power rear sunshade, a windshield wiper de-icer, a fast-response interior heater, and performance dampers. The Ultra Luxury upgrades the ES with a 10.2-inch head-up display, hands-free trunk access, and manual rear door sunshades.
The F Sport Design builds on the base trim with different exterior design elements, heated and ventilated front seats, memory settings, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel (no wood trim), wireless phone charging, rain-sensing windshield wipers with a de-icer, power-folding side mirrors, and a fast-response interior heater. In the meantime, the F Sport Handling receives the beefy V6, performance dampers, an adaptive variable sport-tuned suspension, extra drive modes (Sport S/S+ and Custom), a leather-wrapped F Sport-design steering wheel (heated) and shift knob, and unique aluminum interior décor. The returning Black Line Special Edition tops the range with the 10.2-inch head-up display, a card key, and black exterior elements.
The Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite comes standard in the 2025 ES, outfitting each trim with a pre-collision system, pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. Every trim also gets a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The Luxury, F Sport Design, F Sport Handling, and Black Line Special Edition are also set up with active parking assist with automatic braking and rear cross-traffic alert. These trims are eligible for a surround-view camera, which is a standard feature in the Ultra Luxury.
The Base, Luxury, F Sport Design, and F Sport Handling each get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that incorporates navigation, voice recognition, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 10-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The Ultra Luxury and Black Line Special Edition are given a more prominent 12.3-inch touchscreen, which is optional for all of the other trims, as is a world-class 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
The Premium Package for the Base trim will add heated and ventilated front seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, memory settings (for the driver’s seat, side mirrors, and steering wheel), a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a windshield wiper de-icer, a fast-response interior heater, power-folding side mirrors, wood interior trim, and active parking assist with automatic braking and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology Package, the ES will be enhanced with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch head-up display, and a card key. Many of those lavish upgrades can be added individually, as can a panoramic glass roof and triple-beam LED headlights.
