The 2024 Lexus RX 350 has five versions: Base, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, and F Sport Handling. Their 275-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine forms the powertrain with an eight-speed automatic transmission (with paddle shifters). Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard for most versions, with all-wheel drive (AWD) an option. AWD is standard on the F Sport Handling.
The EPA has estimated the RX’s fuel economy at 22 mpg around town and 29 mpg on the open road with FWD. AWD changes those ratings to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. When the RX 350 is properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,500 pounds. There is 29.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats or 46.2 cubic feet available behind the front row with the second row folded.
The Base is well-equipped with numerous comfort and convenience features, highlighted by heated eight-way power front seats, NuLuxe upholstery, multi-zone automatic climate control, a power tailgate, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, LED fog lights, a 7-inch driver information display, ambient cabin lighting, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The Premium earns its name with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel (trimmed in wood and leather), a driver’s position memory system, a power moonroof, and aluminum roof rails.
The Premium+ is enhanced with genuine leather upholstery, theme-based ambient cabin lighting, upgraded climate controls, and additional infotainment equipment (described below). The Luxury trim layers in more upscale features such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, ten-way power front seats with lumbar controls, heated and ventilated power-adjustable rear seats, Ultrasuede-trimmed door panels, a head-up display, and 21-inch wheels.
The F Sport Handling takes a slightly different approach to the RX. Based on the Premium, this performance-focused trim adds an adaptive variable suspension, exclusive exterior treatments, an F Sport-themed interior with bolstered front seats, theme-based ambient cabin lighting, upgraded climate controls, Ultrasuede-trimmed door panels, a head-up display, and 21-inch wheels.
Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard with every 2024 RX and provides a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and intersection support (for collision mitigation when turning left), lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. In addition, all trims get safe exit assist and parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking. A semi-autonomous self-parking system is optional on the Premium+ and higher trims.
The other standard safety technology on all trims consists of ten airbags, anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability control, traction control, SmartStop (to prevent unintended acceleration), and a rearview monitor. The Premium and above are eligible for the available surround-view monitor.
Infotainment for the RX 350 is centered around a 9.8-inch touchscreen for the Base and Premium editions. A 14-inch touchscreen is standard in the Premium+ and higher (and is available for the Premium). Both systems also have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and multiple USB ports. All RX versions have access to cloud-based navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Lexus connected services (for emergency assistance and vehicle monitoring), and the Lexus app (for remote start and other features). A 12-speaker audio system is standard across the range, with a 21-speaker Mark Levinson system optional on the Premium+ and higher. A smartphone-based digital key (for vehicle access and operation without a physical key) is available on every trim.
