Sold exclusively with the Luxury trim level, the debuting RX 450h+ receives a 304-hp gas-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain incorporating a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor, a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. All-wheel drive is standard. According to the manufacturer’s estimations, this efficient midsized crossover achieves a combined 83 MPGe and can travel up to 37 miles on exclusively electric power. When it’s plugged into the standard 6.6kW onboard charger, it takes approximately 2.5 hours to reach a full charge.
Since the RX 450h+ is only available with the Limited trim level, it comes standard with an abundance of first-rate features. The high-end cabin boasts perforated semi-aniline leather upholstery, multi-zone automatic climate control with a smog-sensing recirculation mode, a radiant knee heater, a power tilt-and-telescopic wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel, position memory settings (for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors), and synthetic-suede door linings. The 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system unites wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, a 12-speaker audio unit, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming.
The 2024 RX 450h+ is equipped with the comprehensive Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite. This cutting-edge ensemble of active driving aids groups all-speed dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed management, proactive driving assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and intersection support, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams.
