Trims, Powertrains, and Performance

The Lexus IS is a cutting-edge sedan that’s available in five trims – Base, F Sport Design, F Sport, F Sport Performance, and F Sport Performance Premium – as well as three powertrains: 300, 350, and 500. The default 300 is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 241 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The 350 represents a 3.5-liter V6 making 311 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s available for the F Sport Design and F Sport trims. The 500, a 5.0-liter V8 hammering out 472 hp and 395 lb.-ft. of torque, is exclusive to the F Sport Performance and F Sport Performance Premium. An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with each of those engines. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional for all but the F Sport Performance and F Sport Performance Premium.

According to the EPA’s official estimations, the RWD 300s return 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. For 300s with AWD, those figures are adjusted to 19 city/26 highway. The 350s get 20 city/28 highway with RWD and 19 city/26 highway with AWD. The RWD-only 500 versions achieve 17 city/25 highway.

Premium Features

The Base is a strong entry-level option, providing proximity keyless entry, LED headlights, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, synthetic-leather interior trim, power-adjustable front seats, a drive-mode selector with Normal and Sport settings, and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. The F Sport Design gets a more dramatic exterior design and heated front seats, while the F Sport adds rain-sensing windshield wipers, ventilated sport-bolstered front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, active sound control, a performance-oriented instrumentation display with a sliding bezel and a G-force meter, and a rear center armrest with cupholders.

The F Sport Performance takes athleticism to the next level, featuring an array of upgrades that include an adaptive variable suspension, additional drive modes (Eco, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom), a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, and rear performance dampers by Yamaha. It also gets a raised hood, side mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, position memory (for the side mirrors, driver’s seat, and steering wheel), and a moonroof. The F Sport Performance Premium goes even further with triple-beam LED headlights and a power rear sunshade, both of which are options for select lower trims.

Advanced Safety Equipment

The Lexus Safety System+2.5 suite comes standard, bundling automatic high beams with a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert with steering assist, road sign assist, and all-speed dynamic radar cruise control. Along with that, every trim has a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The Base and F Sport are eligible for intuitive parking assist with automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic braking, which are standard in the F Sport Performance and F Sport Performance Premium. The F Sport Performance Premium goes a step further with a panoramic view monitor, which is also available for the Base and F Sport.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard infotainment system in the 2-24 IS has an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice recognition, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The F Sport Performance Premium is upgraded with a 10.3-inch touchscreen, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, dynamic voice recognition, and navigation with destination assist.

Lexus presents several elective packages to further load the ’24 IS with amenities.
