Overview

There’s nothing quite like feeling balmy air wafting all around you during a joyride in your coveted convertible. If that prospect excites you, then you might want to set your sights on the 2022 Lexus LC 500. This feature-filled, agile four-seater comes in hardtop and convertible styles and is one of the most invigorating performers in its class. Not only does it show off a daring silhouette characterized by a low-profile stance and gracefully swooping contours, but the LC 500’s ultra-luxurious interior also goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience for its occupants.

While the outgoing model brought some updates to the wheels, suspension, and vehicle stability control system, the 2022 iteration takes these advancements further with additional suspension enhancements inspired by the Lexus Driving Signature philosophy. It’s also the first Lexus to offer a unique Bespoke Build mode, allowing buyers to fully customize the LC 500 to a much higher degree than usual. That means choosing from thousands of feature combinations – from spoilers to interior color schemes to roof material and everything in between – to craft the LC of your dreams.

Trims and Performance

The 2022 Lexus LC 500 is an exhilarating rear-drive coupe that’s available as either a hardtop or a convertible. Both come with a 5.0-liter V8 engine (471 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of torque) that collaborates with a 10-speed direct-shift automatic transmission. This potent powerplant is capable of sending the ’22 LC 500 hardtop from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds (4.6 seconds for the convertible). The EPA’s official fuel economy ratings for the hardtop are 16 miles per gallon around town and 25 mpg on the open road. The convertible is rated at 15 mpg city, with the same 25 mpg on the highway.

Standard and Optional Features

Aside from being a performance-centric coupe, the ’22 LC 500 is also a luxury car. The hardtop model has an adaptive variable suspension, LED headlights, flush exterior door handles, a glass roof (with sunshade), 20-inch wheels with summer performance tires, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats (heated), aluminum sport pedals, a performance-inspired instrument cluster with a G-meter, paddle shifters, and Sport S and S+ drive modes.

The convertible gets those same features, but it also adds a wind deflector/windscreen, a power-operated soft-top roof, active noise control technology, and rear suspension braces. Both models are eligible for a head-up display and a series of packages, which are covered in the Packages section at the end of this page.

Packages

Four packages brimming with deluxe features are available to up the appeal of the ’22 LC 500: Touring, Sport, Dynamic Handling, and All-Weather. In addition to the 21-inch wheels and active parking assist system, the Sport Package provides a Torsen limited-slip differential, a Yamaha rear performance damper, performance brake pads, and sport seats with Alcantara inserts.

The Dynamic Handling Package combines the features from the Sport Package, along with carbon-fiber accents (for the roof and door-sill scuff plates), steering enhancements, and a speed-activated rear wing spoiler. The All-Weather Package supplies a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, a windshield wiper de-icer, and a fast-response interior heater.
