Trims, Powertrain, and fuel Economy

The trims that are on tap for the 2024 Lexus UX Hybrid (or UX 250h) are Base, Premium, F Sport Design, and F Sport Handling. Their hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas-burning engine and an electric motor that produce 181 hp together. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) sets in motion the standard front-wheel or available all-wheel drivetrain. With FWD, the UX 250h achieves an EPA-estimated 43 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway, while those with AWD get 41 city/38 highway.

Standard and Available Amenities

The Base trim has a generous combination of necessities and conveniences, with proximity keyless entry, LED exterior lights (headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights), roof rails, heated side mirrors, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a 7-inch multi-information display, four USB-C ports, a drive mode selector (the modes are ECO, Normal, and Sport), a 60-40-split folding rear seatback, and a cargo area with a folding tonneau cover and an adjustable deckboard. An auto-dimming rearview mirror and a hands-free liftgate are this trim’s options.

The Premium gets the auto-dimming mirror, plus a HomeLink universal garage door opener. It also has color-keyed overfenders, a moonroof, rain-sensing wipers, and heated and ventilated front seats. For extra comfort on those cold commutes, Lexus makes a heated steering wheel available. The F Sport Design does without the auto-dimming rearview mirror, hands-free liftgate, and heated and ventilated front seats, although they can be added back as options (minus the HomeLink system). The trade-off for this trim is unique exterior styling along with LED fog lights; it’s also eligible for a heated steering wheel.

The F Sport Handling returns the auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink and heated and ventilated front seats, but the hands-free liftgate remains optional, as does the heated steering wheel. Other updates to this trim include sport-bolstered front seats, power-folding side mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down and driver’s-side auto-dimming, a trim-exclusive leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, aluminum doorsill scuff plates and pedals, an 8-inch performance-inspired instrumentation system with a sliding bezel, position memory settings (for the side mirrors and driver’s seat), active sound control tech, paddle shifters, and three additional drive modes: Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom. For each trim, a windshield wiper de-icer, a wireless phone charger, and a head-up display are offered as individual options.

Advanced Driving Aids

Across the board, the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite is installed. This state-of-the-art grouping of active driving aids provides a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert with steering assist, road sign assist, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard. Buyers can order intuitive parking assist, Lexus’ automated hands-free parking system.

Multimedia and Connectivity

The first three trims have the base infotainment system, which has an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a six-speaker audio system. These three trims are also eligible for the Drive Connect service plan (via paid subscription), which contains Intelligent Assistance voice recognition, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist with live 24-hour service. The F Sport Handling comes with three years of Drive Connect and is boosted with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and an improved 10-speaker sound system (both of those are available on the Premium trim).
