Trim Levels

The 2020 NX 300 is available in three trim levels: NX 300, NX 300 F Sport, and NX 300 Luxury. All models come with excellent standard features. The base NX 300 gets 17-inch wheels, push-to-start ignition, Lexus’s NuLuxe simulated-leather upholstery, and plenty of driver safety and multimedia features. The F Sport, as its name implies, gets a whole slew of sport-oriented features, including a sporty exterior trim, sport-tuned suspension, and a sport steering wheel. It also upgrades the wheels to 18-inchers. Finally, the NX 300 Luxury ups the premium features with a perforated leather-trimmed interior, a heated steering wheel, and heated and ventilated front seats, among other plush amenities.

Mechanical Features and Fuel Economy

All NX 300 models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (235 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque), with a six-speed automatic transmission as its powertrain partner. It also comes standard with front-wheel drive, but most New Englanders will opt for the available all-wheel drive. FWD models get an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, while the AWD models trail ever so slightly with at 27 mpg highway and the same EPA city rating of 22 mpg.

Safety & Technology

All trim levels come standard with the Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Lexus Enform Service Connect, and Bluetooth audio technology. To really step up the luxury atmosphere, there is a massive 10.3-inch high-resolution multimedia display with navigation that comes standard on the NX 300 Luxury and is optional on the other two trims. Lexus also offers a Mark Levinson Premium Surround Audio System with 14 speakers that delivers one of the highest quality listening experiences out there.

The NX 300 series comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0. This state-of-the-art package of safety features includes truly advanced driver-assist technology, such as low-light pedestrian detection and daytime bicyclist detection technology, smart-stop braking technology, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and a specialized system that reads road sign information. Additionally, all models come standard with great passive safety features, like front seatbacks designed to limit whiplash injury and an advanced eight-airbag system. The NX 300 is also engineered with a rigid body structure with crumple zones for the utmost protection of all occupants in the unfortunate event of a collision. Other available safety features include a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a panoramic bird’s-eye view monitor, intuitive parking assist, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
