2020 Lexus LS Hybrid in Springfield

This may sound like a cliché, but the 2020 Lexus LS Hybrid truly does offer a little bit of everything. As a full-sized Lexus sedan, it naturally delivers on the expected luxury factor, but along with that it provides state-of-the-art technology and the perfect balance between horsepower and eco-friendliness. Add the available all-wheel drive and the optional Cold Weather Package and it becomes the quintessential vehicle for wintertime in New England. The powerplant consists of a 3.5-liter V6 engine and two electric motors that yield a total system output of 354 horsepower, making it the most powerful LS Hybrid to date. Its 10-speed automatic transmission efficiently shifts the gears to help achieve an EPA-estimated 28 mpg (city/highway combined). Of course, the LS Hybrid is also elegantly crafted inside and out, and several optional packages can be added to really load it with luxury.

Comfort and Convenience

Lexus has kept the LS Hybrid straightforward with a single trim level, the LS 500h, which comes in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Besides its elegant Takumi craftsmanship, the luxury sedan’s outstanding slate of standard features includes LED lighting (headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights), a power rear sunshade, a power open/close trunk complete with kick sensor, SmartAccess with push-button ignition, and memory functions for the driver’s seat, side mirrors, and steering wheel.

Additional premium features can be added through a series of packages, such as the Cold Weather Package, which contains a windshield wiper de-icer, headlamp washers, and an enhanced interior heater. The Interior Upgrade Package provides a semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior, heated rear seats, an Ultrasuede headliner and sun visors, and a 28-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with multifunctional massage and a cushion extender. The Luxury Package combines the features from the Interior Upgrade Package with heated and ventilated front and rear seats, quad-zone climate control, power side-window sunshades, power-adjustable rear seats, a wood- and leather-trimmed rear center console with a 7-inch touchscreen, and a passenger seat power cushion extender with remote adjustment. The most exceptional package is the Executive with Kiriko Glass, which bundles those features along with Kiriko glass interior door trim, butterfly power-retractable headrests, a right-side rear-seat power recliner with ottoman and massage features, and 22-way power-adjustable rear seats with multifunctional massage.

Technology and Active Safety Features

The 2020 LS Hybrid comes with a nice selection of connectivity features, starting with an infotainment system that has a 12.3-inch touchscreen, the Lexus Enform App Suite, integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, onboard Wi-Fi, a 12-speaker audio system, a remote touchpad, voice recognition feature, and steering-wheel mounted controls. The available upgrades include a premium 23-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and a rear-seat touchscreen console that controls luxurious details like individualized temperature and seat massage. Although a blind-spot monitor and rearview camera come standard, most of the active safety features must be added through the available  Lexus Safety System+ A Package (all-speed dynamic radar cruise control and lane change assist, a pre-collision system with front cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, active steering assist, and head-up display).
