2020 Lexus LC 500h in Springfield
The 2020 Lexus LC 500h is one of the most refined high-efficiency vehicles ever built. LC stands for “Luxury Coupe,” and the “h” suffix denotes that it’s the hybrid counterpart to the conventional gasoline-only LC 500, which is equipped with a standard V8 engine. The two versions are similarly equipped with desirable amenities and a refined interior, but the LC 500h, of course, gets the bonus of increased fuel economy. This luxury coupe continues its first generation for the most part unchanged from last model year, but there are some new standard and optional features.
The rear-wheel-drive LC 500h is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 accompanied by two electric motor-generators. The transmission combination consists of a continuously variable transmission working with a four-speed conventional automatic transmission, with paddle shifters for those who enjoy the ultimate driving experience. This powertrain delivers 354 horsepower, making it a standout in the hybrid segment. The LC 500h can go from 0 to 60 mph in a remarkable 4.7 seconds, with a top track speed of 155 mph. Its notable fuel efficiency ratings – an EPA-estimated 27 mpg city and 35 mpg highway – make it the perfect blend of power and eco-friendly efficiency.
Living up to its luxurious reputation, the LC 500h comes standard with ambient interior lighting, dual-zone automatic temperature control, automatic high beams (LED), leather upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats, a power moonroof, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an adjustable suspension. It’s also equipped with some outstanding multimedia technology, such as a 10.3-inch touchscreen multimedia display, a 12-speaker audio system, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, a navigation system, and in-car Wi-Fi.
The 2020 LC 500h comes in a single trim level, but there are options packages available so that the buyer can customize. The All-Weather Package bundles amenities such as a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, a windshield wiper de-icer, and a fast-response interior heater for winter comfort and safety. The Touring Package adds semi-aniline perforated leather-trimmed front seats, an Alcantara headliner, and an upgraded Mark Levinson premium audio system. Geared towards performance, the Sport Package upgrades to eight-way power front seats with Alcantara inserts, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, and a carbon fiber or glass roof. Those who want a truly loaded LC 500h can add the Performance Package, which combines all of the Sport Package’s features (including the carbon fiber roof) with active rear steering, a speed-activated rear wing, and variable gear-ratio steering.
Like every vehicle in the Lexus lineup, the LC 500h is outfitted with the latest and most advanced safety technology available. The Lexus Safety System+ is standard equipment; it includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with lane keep assist, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, and intelligent high beams. Other standard driver-assist features include a backup camera with dynamic guidelines and a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The LC 500h also has essential passive safety features, like an intelligently designed rigid body structure with crumple zones and a ten-airbag system.
