2019 Lexus IS Sedan Near Springfield MA
The sleek and well-appointed Lexus IS 300 is the Japanese luxury automaker’s answer to the BMW 3 Series and similar compact European sport sedans. It’s been known for its roomy and quiet cabin since it debuted in 1998 – three generations ago – and it’s back for 2019 with more technology features and improved engine response. The IS 300 also offers an impressive number of standard features on even the base trim, making it an exceptional value within its segment.
Trims & Mechanical Features
The IS 300 is available in three trim configurations (Base, F Sport, and F Sport Black Line Special Edition), each with a choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Trims with RWD receive a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 241 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque; it is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive trims come equipped with a more powerful 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 that produces 260 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque; it is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
All trims also feature a track-tuned chassis that boosts the vehicle’s performance to help create a more natural connection to the road. You can also rotate among eco, normal, and sport driving modes for when you want more fuel efficiency as opposed to more responsive performance, and vice-versa. The rear-wheel drive models deliver an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while the all-wheel drive models follow closely with an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
The base IS 300 RWD comes standard with 17-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, NuLuxe simulated-leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and state-of-the-art connectivity features. The IS 300 AWD includes heated front seats and offers Comfort, Premium, And Navigation options packages. The F Sport adds a new design, 18-inch wheels, upgraded brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, and driver and passenger sport seats. The F Sport Black Line Special Edition is truly limited, with only 900 units built. It adds distinct appearance elements such as split-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels with black and chrome finish, black exterior side mirrors, black interior trim, black upholstery with contrasting red accents, and upgraded triple-beam headlights. It is offered in just three color choices, versus the eight paint tones available for the other two trims.
Technology & Safety
