2019 Lexus ES 350 Near Springfield MA
The all-new 2019 Lexus ES 350 is bigger and better than the six generations that came before it, adding a bit of length, width, and cabin space, plus a noteworthy horsepower increase from 268 to 302 from its all-new 3.5-liter V6. Its efficiency and acceleration have been improved as well, thanks to a new eight-speed Direct Shift transmission (with paddle shifters) that replaces the previous six-speed version. The EPA rates the luxury sedan’s fuel efficiency at 22 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, and it’s certified as an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV II).
For those seeking a racier look and feel, an F Sport version of the ES 350 is available for the first time ever, bringing with it 19-inch wheels (17-inch wheels are standard on the base ES 350), bolstered sport seats, a prominent black grille, trim-specific lower fascias, and sporty interior accents. The F Sport also features an available adaptive suspension with Sport+ driving mode that pipes in amplified engine noise for a racier roar inside the otherwise quiet cabin. Accessories that can be added to the ES 350 include a rear spoiler, body side moldings, a Lexus Universal tablet holder, and illuminated door and trunk sills.
The redesigned ES 350 delivers the expected quiet and luxurious ride, along with an exceptionally low center of gravity for even more pleasurable driving. The Lexus Hybrid Acoustics sound-dampening technology ensures the quietest ride possible. The ES also now features the unparalleled ergonomic heated steering wheel from the flagship LS sedan. This varied-grip steering wheel was designed based on extensive research on palm pressure to provide the driver with the most natural grip at any potential hand position. And just as every Lexus since the beginning has boasted fine fit and finish, the 2019 ES 350 upholds that standard with high-quality materials and craftsmanship inside, including hand stitching, elegant wood trim, available quilted leather seats, and artful Japanese detailing. For example, the F Sport edition has exclusive Hadori (traditional Japanese sword-making technique) aluminum trim. Heated and ventilated leather seats are available on all but the F Sport trim.
The Lexus Safety System 2.0 integrates a suite of class-leading active technology to greatly reduce the likelihood of a collision. Among these are Lane Tracing Assist/lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control, pre-collision sensors with pedestrian and bicycle detection, road sign assist, and intelligent automatic high beams. The passive safety systems, including ten standard air bags and Lexus’s superior safety cage, protect occupants in the unlikely case of a collision. Active safety options range from a four-camera panoramic view monitor to a blind-spot monitor.
The Lexus Enform system heads up the technology offerings, as it integrates apps, music, WiFi, communication, and on-the-road needs (assistance, news, and travel information) in a central touchscreen; you can even use it to start your ES 350 remotely. Bluetooth connection is standard, while Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay are available within certain options packages, as are two different levels of navigation packages, including one that adds a Mark Levinson 17-speaker premium audio system. A customizable 10.2-inch head-up display can also be added.
